Mango chia seed smoothie | Simple, healthy and delicious
Mango chia seed smoothie for your morning boost! Or any time of the day. I find it also very good after a work-out. This smoothie is full of fiber, iron, potassium, calcium. Not to forget the omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids as well as vitamins C, B1, B2, and B3.
By adding chia seeds it will give more texture in your smoothie, with a little bit of crunch. Together with oatmeal it is a very filling smoothie. You will feel full for longer. If you prefer something warm for the cold days try my other recipe: hot oatmeal soy drink. Also very simple, healthy and delicious.
Chia seeds has many healthy benefits as you can find on the internet, but for some people they could experience some difficulties to digest chia seed. So always try first and use it in moderation.
For this mango chia seed smoothie recipe I used soy milk, but you can also use other plant based milk or regular milk.
Ingredients for 2 portions
- 1 cup soy milk unsweetened
- 1/4 cup oatmeal
- 1 ripe frozen banana
- 1/2 cup frozen mango
- 1 teaspoon chia seed
- 3 teaspoons water
- In a small bowl, mix the chia seeds and water. Allow to sit for about 15 minutes for the chia seeds to start to soften. You will see that it turns a bit like jelly.
- Add all the ingredients in the blender and blend everything together. Sometimes frozen fruits maybe difficult to blend. So if your blender has some difficulties, cut the fruit in small pieces. It will make it easier to blend. Enjoy!
